Dr. Bert made us aware of the Barefoot Academy need for a teacher for the school year 1998-1999. Vicki and I prayed about whether or not to go for several days then accepted the challenge. Both Vicki and I worked with the field workers' children as teachers that year.  The hospital staff and workers were wonderful to us treating us like family. They all were dedicated, hardworking and had positive attitudes. GOD taught us HE is able to care for us – both small and great needs. HE saw us through any and all situations!  Our eyes were opened to the many challenges facing missionaries both in the field and back home.  An overseas experience cannot be matched for testing one’s faith and stretching one’s talents. Having served in another culture increases one’s knowledge of the world and its peoples.
